I finally updated my iVillage account today, and it was damn hard to remove the 4-12-2006 due date (You are 17 weeks pregnant! happy iVillage computer bots say) from my profile. When I figured out how to do the delete, it asked "Are you sure you want to delete this child or pregnancy?"
Sheesh.

No machine could have been more tactless if it tried. I'm sorry even the inanimate objects are giving you grief.

Oh, dear. This exact thing happened to me with my last pregnancy--except I kept deleting, and then I would sign back on (to visit the miscarriage boards, for chrissake) and it would have forgotten and would chirp things at me about "my baby's" development. I finally wrote a tearful and furious email to the web department and never went back again.
I am so sorry you are going through this.

Ouch. Some programmer had to know that the message would read that way. What were they thinking?

UGH. Stupid programmers should be shot. What were they thinking? I remember a few years ago I had to do the same thing...I don't think I've been back to IVillage since.. hang in there ((hugs)). Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this blog...it is helpful.
